Campus France procedure before visa application (for foreign residents in Taiwan)

This article is intended for foreign residents in Taiwan.

To apply for a French visa, you must prove that you are a regular resident in Taiwan. Regular residents, in general, are those who live in Taiwan with a resident permit (e.g. ARC) or a Taiwan visa. If you meet either condidtion, please ask our visa department first (admin-etrangers.taipei-ift@diplomatie.gouv.fr).

After confirming your eligibility, please follow these steps:

1) Create an account on our online platform and fill out the form

Please log in to our online platform Etudes en France

For exchange or double degree students https://www.taiwan.campusfrance.org/Etudes-en-France-echange-doublecursus  (please refer to the attachment 填寫範例)

For non-exchange students (degree-seeking and others) https://www.taiwan.campusfrance.org/Etudes-en-France-individuel (please refer to the  attachment 填寫範例)

Attention: your motivation letter should be no shorter than 1300 characters.

Documents to upload :

- Your passport and Taiwanese ARC

- Your admission letter from your future institution in France

- For a degree-seeking program: your highest diploma in English or French

- For an exchange/double-degree program: your latest certificate of enrollment in English or French issued by your home university proving that you are registered for the current semester

2) Submit your interview fee

Once your online form is filled out, inform Campus France ASAP (via the message box messagerie in you online account) regarding the following items: 

Your account number (starting with TW, which you can see on the upper-right side of your account)

Answers to the following questions :

- Did you receive your admission letter ?

- When is your departure for France ?

- Have you lived in Taiwan continuously during the past six months?

As long as your form is correctly filled out, you will be able to pay your interview fee and make your appointment online.

3) Prepare required documents for Campus France

For Camus France:

If you are an exchange / double-degree student:

- Your passport and Taiwanese ARC (original)

- Your certificate of enrollment in English issued by your home university (original and copy). Attention: your student ID card cannot substitute for this document

- Your admission letter to a French partner school (copy)

- Your CV in English or French

If you are a non-exchange student (language school, degree-seeking, continuing education, school entrance exam, etc) :

- Your passport and Taiwanese ARC (original)

- Your highest diploma in English (original and a copy);

- Your admission letter to your future French institution (original and a copy)

4) Prepare Required Documents for Visa Application

5) Interview with Campus France

- On your interview day, please come to Campus France first for the interview before submitting your visa application to our visa department later that day.

Yes! The interview and visa application take place on the same day, so do come with the following required documents for both Campus France and the visa department.

- At the end of the interview, you will receive the receipt of your payment, which is necessary for your visa application.

 

Please kindly note that Campus France can assist you through steps 1) to 4).

For any question about step 5, only the visa department is the competent administration to answer. You may write them in English (admin-etrangers.taipei-ift@diplomatie.gouv.fr).

Processing time

For steps 1 to 4, it takes about one to two weeks, depending on how quickly you can provide all the required information and documents.

Step 5 takes from two to three weeks.

So in general, the whole procedure takes from 3 to 4 weeks. We strongly suggest applicants come to the interview at least one month before their departure for France.

To sum up, you dont have much time to wait. Please complete your online form on Etudes en France ASAP!

You may also come to our office from Mon. to Fri. between 2 to 4 PM to use our computers (please bring the scanned required documents).
